- 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar: A touch of sweetness to balance out the heat.
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar: Adds acidity and tang to the sauce.
- 2 teaspoons fresh grated ginger: A zesty addition that provides a punch of flavor.
- 2 cloves garlic, minced: For that classic garlic-forward flavor that pairs perfectly with buffalo sauce.
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes: To add extra heat (optional).

Instructions
FIRST STEP: PREPARE THE CHICKEN WINGS
- Preheat the Oven or Heat the Oil: If you’re baking the wings, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). For frying, heat vegetable oil in a large pot or deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to ensure they crisp up during cooking. Season the wings with salt and pepper to taste.
- Coat the Wings: If you’re baking, lightly coat the wings with vegetable oil to ensure they become crispy. If you’re frying, you can skip this step, as the oil will naturally crisp the wings.
SECOND STEP: COOK THE WINGS
- Baking: Arrange the seasoned wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are golden brown and crispy.
- Frying: If you prefer fried wings, carefully add the wings to the hot oil in batches. Fry for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
THIRD STEP: MAKE THE ASIAN BUFFALO SAUCE
- Combine the Ingredients: In a small saucepan, combine the buffalo sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey (or brown sugar), rice vinegar, ginger, and minced garlic. Whisk the ingredients together until fully combined.
- Simmer the Sauce: Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the sauce to a simmer. Allow it to cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Optional Thickening: If you’d like a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water to make a slurry. Slowly add the slurry to the sauce while stirring. Let it cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until it thickens to your desired consistency.
FOURTH STEP: COAT THE WINGS WITH THE SAUCE
- Toss the Wings: Once the wings are cooked, place them in a large bowl. Pour the hot Asian buffalo sauce over the wings and toss until they are evenly coated. Be sure to coat each wing thoroughly with the sauce for maximum flavor.
- Serve Immediately: Transfer the wings to a serving platter and garnish with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and fresh cilantro. Serve the wings hot for the best experience.
